It is reported in the Northumberland Gazette newspaper that Tyneside health authorities have declared an 'amnesty' for the return of NHS Wheelchairs.
The PCT wheelchair services believe there are a large number of unused wheelchairs, belonging to the NHS, being stored in the wider community.
In these financially strained times, measures such as this amnesty, may well help towards keeping overall NHS costs down.
